Draw a perpendicular line from a point to a line

As well as being asked to draw a perpendicular bisector, you could also be asked to draw a perpendicular line from a point to a line.

The perpendicular line between the point and the line is the shortest path between them.

That makes these constructions very useful.

This construction is quite similar to a perpendicular bisector, we still just need compasses, a ruler and a sharp pencil.
