Graphical Solutions to Simultaneous Equations

Graphically, we can see the solutions to simultaneous equations as the points of intersection between two functions.

While it is possible to solve equations simultaneously by using algebraic methods, we can also solve them by plotting their graphs and seeing where they intersect. The point or points of intersection are the solutions.

For example, consider the following equations. If we plot them on a graph, we can easily see the solution.

y=2x+3 y = 2x + 3

x+y=9x + y = 9
