### The Mean

The mean is the most common form of average, which is used to find the typical value in the dataset.

The **mean** is the most common type of average used when analysing data. The mean finds the **typical value** within a set of data.

Let's look at an example! Here is a set of data which describes the daily peak temperature across a week in Hawaii. $27 \degree C, 31 \degree C, 34 \degree C, 29 \degree C, 25.5 \degree C, 27.4 \degree C, 31 \degree C$

What is the sum of all the numbers together?

Now we can find the mean!
